DIY Livery
Hook Farm is a friendly, family run livery yard which provides DIY and Assisted DIY livery to a range of horse owners and we offer great facilities. We are fortunate enough to be able to offer ample grazing, all year turnout in individual paddocks or small compatible groups if required. In the summer months we offer 24/7 turnout. We also offer a comprehensive Grass livery package.
Our Facilities
Excellent Stables
Our yard comprises both internal and external 12 x 12 looseboxes, with larger boxes available if required.
All Weather Arena
Our recently built floodlit arena can be ridden on daily in the winter months even in sub-zero temperatures with no freezing of the Alruber topped surface. We have a good range of professional quality smart plastic show jumps of all types including fillers. For the summer months a spacious 20 x 60 grass dressage area is created.
Good Quality Hay, Straw and Bedding
We make all our own hay which is high quality. We purchase good quality clean straw but are happy for our liveries to purchase and store small amounts of their preferred bedding if they choose not to use straw.
Assistance
For those horse owners who need a little assistance turning out/bringing in we have freelance professional help at the farm on hand to help during week days, at a reasonable rate.
Onsite Equine Massage
An optional extra of equine massage is often taken up by our liveries from fully qualified Equine Massage Therapist Sam, who can be booked during week days.
Great Local Vets
We are fortunate to have two Equine specialist veterinary hospitals within 10 minutes’ drive of the farm; we benefit from being in their local zone and have reduced travel costs on some days of the week for routine work.
Parking
We can provide space for lorry and trailer parking.
Security
We have lockable tack rooms and all night lighting outside the stables. We plan to install extra security cameras in the near future.
Fantastic Off-Road Hacking
Hook Farm has 5½ miles of private off road riding with some spectacular and far reaching views. If you would like to ride off the farm our area is served by some good bridle paths, and we are only a 10 minute hack to Ardingly Show Ground, from there another few minutes ride down a country lane and you could be riding the bridleway surrounding the beautiful Ardingly Reservoir, a perfect weekend ride.
Our Outlook
We consider the most important element to running our livery stables is that both owners and their horses or ponies are happy, and that we maintain a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
